Biography
Award-winning Danish jazz vocalist and songwriter — warm, dark-toned and fearlessly improvisational.
Sinne Eeg (sée-neh ée) is one of Scandinavia’s most distinctive jazz artists, with a career spanning Europe, Asia and the United States. Her music moves between classic vocal jazz, original songwriting and a contemporary Nordic sensibility.
Her music belongs on any stage: the close dialogue of a duo or quartet, or the full sound of a big band or symphony orchestra. She has appeared at venues including The Kennedy Center, the Jarasum Jazz Festival and Cotton Club Tokyo.
Her recordings include Shikiori, recorded in Japan with pianist Jacob Christoffersen, Dreams from New York and We’ve Just Begun with the Danish Radio Big Band. Her song “Aleppo” won the Carl Prize for Song of the Year, and her honours include multiple Danish Music Awards, the Danish Radio P2 Jazz Prize, the Ben Webster Prize and Queen Ingrid’s Honorary Grant.
